The Association was created out of personal experience using the procedure from October 2002 onwards.

Professor Bonfiglio wished to make the procedure - of critical importance on more than one occasion - available to all in similar circumstances and hence sought the co-operation of technicians, doctors, researchers and consultants to set up the Association which is a non profit organization.
